Incised slab with sword and cross
A cracked slab situated to the west of the Rilston tombs, on the northern side of the nave, measures c. 2m x 3/4m. There is no inscription, but it is incised with a cross and sword, indicating a crusader.

Initialled slab
A badly-broken slab on the southern side of the nave, near the western doorway, bears the initials IHC.

Agnes Vincent
An interesting tomb uncovered by the earl and countess of Scarbrough ‘and other distinguished visitors’ during the excavations of August 1913 shows a figure of a lady with her hands crossed on her breast and a dog at her feet. It bears the following inscription:

Pray for Agnes Vincent, wife of John Vincent of Braithwell who died 18 February 1449.

Agnes was the daughter of Barlow of Barlow, near Chesterfield. Her husband, John Vincent, was receiver to Richard, duke of York, and killed at the Battle of Wakefield in 1460.
