Title: | Xin Zhongguo de ertong (Children of New China) |
Artist: | Unknown |
Created: | c. 1950 |
Media: | nianhua (New Year print); ink on paper |
Source: | Dazhong Meishu Chubanshe |
Notes: | No artist is credited in what appears to be a Korean War-era New Year print. Children representing the various arms of the Chinese military, as well as peasants and workers, join forces in driving Chiang Kai-shek and a Macarthuresque American into the sea beyond Taiwan. Note the colour of Chiang's skin, the almost skeletal qualities of his facial features, the inclusion of a plaster on his temple, and his twisted dagger. |
