Notes: | In a propaganda leaflet produced in Chinese and Mongolian (and presumably for distrubution in Mongolia), readers are informed about the fall of Guangzhou and Wuhan to the Japanese in Ocotber 1938. Stalin is shown purging his own generals while a wounded Chiang (complete with the crutch and head bandage which by this time has become standard tropes of Japanese military propaganda) sits in Chongqing and laments: 'With this violent assistance from Russia, I have no option but to resign and flee abroad'. |
