Abstract

Dorothy claimed that Catherine had defamed her by accusing her publically of witchcraft. The libel states that the ‘said Katherine Greetham speaking to or of the said Dorothy Cooke said and reported (though falsely) that the said Dorothy was a witch & had murdered the said Katherines child & bewitched it to death’. Responding, Catherine denied these allegations but the case contains no sentence.
