Abstract

Margery accused Frances of publicly defaming her in the parish of Harewood by calling her a ‘witche, and arrand witche and sayd she wolde prove hir a witche for she had betwitched hir pigs.’ Frances denied the accusation. Margery produced witnesses who testified that they had heard Frances call her a witch.
