Abstract

William Bates argued that probate of the will and codicil of Joseph Bates the Elder (granted to the defendants Joseph Bates the Younger and Henry Cooper) ought to be revoked. Cooper and Joseph Bates the Younger exhibited the will and codicil and alleged that they were valid. They brought witnesses who supported this claim.
