Abstract

Stubbs alleged that Bradley had defamed her by stating that she was a whore and that he had ‘whored with her in every room in the house’. Stubbs brought witnesses who confirmed this. Their testimony revealed that the defamation occurred at The Bay Horse, an inn belonging to Stubbs’ husband, when Bradley abused Stubbs after being turned out of the inn. The court found for Stubbs.
