inlænding (OSw) noun

A collective tax of 40 marker from each hæraþ (q.v.) given to a newly elected king arriving in the province (possibly only Östergötland) on his journey through the realm (OSw eriksgata). In MEL the right, granted by the king, for a violator of the king’s sworn peace (see eþsöre) to return to the kingdom after paying 40 marker.
